After witnessing a surge in Omicron virus cases, Sri Lanka announced fresh travel guidelines for all travellers arriving in the country.

Omicron is the recently growing variant of coronavirus, which is slowly increasing globally, all the countries have started some measures to protect their citizens from this deadly disease.

Fresh Travel Guidelines Announces By Sri Lanka

Pre-departure negative COVID-19 Test report by travelers to Sri Lanka.
(Unless complied with, boarding will not be allowed)
  1. Applicable to all travelers aged 12 years and above in Sri Lanka
  2. PCR test result (Negative) will be in English or certified translation of the document/test report along with the original.
  3. All passengers will be subjected to a PCR test within 72 hours of departure.
  4. Passengers with a history of COVID-19 infection with a verifiable report (Diagnosis card or verifiable evidence or positive PCR/Rapid antigen test) during the last 03 months A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test report (in English) within 48 can present. hours before their departure flight.
Fully vaccinated Passengers will be authorized to disembark in Sri Lanka 14 days after the last vaccination. Original copy of vaccination certificate should be presented on arrival along with attested copy of English language translation.

Unvaccinated Children (Under 18 Years): Children of Tourists or Foreign National Parents: (i) Travelers (Ages 12 to 18 Years) 01 day / to receive a PCR Test on Arrival:
     (a) the Ministry of Health approved the laboratory at BIA Katunayake; or,
     (b) a quarantine hotel; or,
     (c) a safe and secure level 1 hotel.

Children 12-18 years old, if departing two weeks after receiving at least one dose of Pfizer vaccine, will be considered fully vaccinated.

Unvaccinated children of 12 -18 years (of fully vaccinated parents) in a laboratory approved by the Ministry of Health in Katunayake or in a Government Quarantine Center (for Sri Lankans and dual nationals) / Quarantine Hotel / Safe and Secure Certified Day 1 Have to undergo PCR test. Level 1 Hotel. If the first day's PCR report comes negative, they will be issued. Will be allowed to go home from quarantine with fully vaccinated parents.
