Goa Airport Closed It's Night Operations Till Sept 8, 2021

Aviation Authority said that night opertion of flights from Goa will remain closed till September 2021 because of the modernistion of runway. The Goa airport is part of the INS Hansa Base of Indian Navy located at Vasco town in Goa.

Indian Navy official said the modernization work has starts from May 8 onwards which will opernational till September 8, 2021. The runway will remain closed for all the incoming and outgoing flights from 2200 hours to 0630 hours.

Modernization work is being completed by Tata Power SED and will be working out in night hours to have low impact on civil flight operations.

Goa Airport Director Gagan Malik said the night closure would not have much impact on the civil flight operations.

He added in his statement that because of the pandemic situation, almost 90 percent of the companies have cancelled their scheduled flights to Goa.
