Andaman and Nicobar Islands have announced a night curfew time by an hour along with shutdown of all prominent tourist spots for one month. In a fresh update, it was announced that all the tourist spots as well as cinema halls in the Andamans will remain closed urge to the COVID situation in India.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands authorities closed their tourist attractions on April 22. The night curfew that was imposed has now been extended by one hour (new timings: 9 PM to 5 AM).
The recent restrictions came into effect after a large counts of COVID cases were detected in the tourists coming from India. In an serious incident, some tourists were found tampering with their test reports. Soon after they were caught bu the police, FIRs were also registered against all the tourists.
As of now all the tourists spots were closed and administration also stated that fine of Rs 10000 also imposed on all the tourists who violated the rules.
Union Territory has also said that all travellers coming from the India will now have to stay under 7-day mandatory quarantine in government aided institutions even if they test negative for COVID-19. Those who found violating rules will have to pay INR 5000.
