Venture of low-cost carrier of India, Air India Express announced its Vande Bharat Mission flights to Malaysia from May 24, 2021.

Air India Express in a press release make a annoucement that its Vande Bharat Mission flights will connect Chennai, Delhi, Trichy, Bengaluru, and Kochi with Kuala Lumpur.

Previously, Malaysia has suspended flights from India since April 27, 2021 after the huge increament of novel coronavirus cases in India.

The travelling between the two countries has come as a relief to many stucked Indians, especially from Tamil Nadu and Kerala, who have been waiting for flight operations to resume. It is to be noted that countries have banned flights from India because of the deadly second wave of the corona virus.


Indian nationals cannot travel to Kuala Lumpur, however, Malaysian nationals are given exceptions provided they undergo quarantine for 14 days.

Since from May 22nd, all passengers traveling out from India are required to have a negative RT-PCR test report with a QR code linking to the original report. If any passenger failed to provide a negative RT-PCR test with a QR code they would not be allowed to on-board to the flight.
