As the Covid-19 cases begin to decline, the demand for travel is picking up again, with airlines as well as travel portals reporting up to 100% growth in bookings. Industry executives said the increase in vaccination would also help in the revival of the sector.

IndiGo, India's largest carrier in terms of market share and capacity, said bookings have doubled from May this year's lows.

Sanjay Kumar, Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer of IndiGo stated that, "According to the minister’s tweet, daily flown passengers have moved up from the bottom of 40,000 to now over 80,000. So, we can say booking and flying passengers have almost doubled from the bottom sometime in the middle of May 21,"

Domestic carriers carried more than 85,000 passengers
in total on Sunday. Travel portals have also reported an increase in bookings.

Rikant Pitti, Co-Founder of EaseMyTrip said that , "Recently, we saw an increase of over 40% in overall bookings of flights from the travel lows that the sector was facing a week back,"
