Indigo's 6E-7979 Tyre Bursts During Landing At Hubli; No Injuries

Airport officials said on Tuesday that the tyre of an Indigo flight 6E-7979 bound for Hubli burst while landing here. All passengers and crew members were safe.

In an official spokesperson of Indigo Airlines said, "IndiGo ATR operating 6e-7979 from Kannur to Hubli reported Tyre Burst at Hubli upon arrival yesterday (Monday) evening. All passengers and crew are safe. Aircraft is currently under maintenance maintenance checks at Hubli."

According to an airport official, the plane had landed at 8.03 pm on Monday, but due to the cross wind, it took off immediately and turned around. Landed again at around 8.35 pm.

Official said in his statement, "Probably due to hard landing and cross wind, the tyre burst,"

All the passengers were deboarded at the airport itself and the runway was cleared by 2 am on Tuesday.

"The flight operations are now normal. We have informed the Air Traffic Control about the incident," the official further added to his statement.
