London has just inaugurated the world's first transparent swimming pool. The interesting thing about this pool is that it hangs between two buildings, making it look like they are floating in the air.
This wonder is named the Sky Pool, which is 82 feet long and hangs 115 feet above a road. The pool is connected between the 10th floor of two buildings, next to the US Embassy, in London. Another interesting attraction of this pool is that the floating pool also offers beautiful views of the Parliament House and the London Eye.
The swimming pool can hold 50 tons of water and features a rooftop bar and spa. It is designed by structural engineer Eckersley O'Callaghan, of the idea that the structure will give swimmers the feeling of flying while taking a dip in the pool.
Embassy Gardens shared a video of the people on YouTube and shared information about the said pool. According to his post, 148000 li of water allows swimmers to swim 35 meters in the air between two residential buildings. The Sky Pool was recently inaugurated and as of now, access to the pool is limited to the towers of residents and their guests.
The idea that the pool should be somewhat transparent to allow swimmers to see the ground arose. After a series of technical discussions and drawings, the dimensions of the pool were decided.
The project got the approval when Embassy Gardens approached architecture firms Hal Curry and Arup Associates to develop the design.
