Jyotiraditya Scindia has been announced as the Minister of Civil Aviation. He took over from Hardeep Singh Puri, who has been at the helm of the Civil Aviation Ministry since 2019.
The announcement was made after the cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
News agency ANI announced this on the official twitter account.

Scindia is also a member of the Rajya Sabha and represents Madhya Pradesh. He was instrumental in toppling the Congress government and helping the BJP return to power in the central Indian state. Scindia occupies the position his late father Madhavrao Scindia held in the PV Narasimha Rao cabinet from 1991 to 1993.
The new minister has cut back on his work as the aviation sector is one of the worst-hit sectors due to the pandemic. With the change in leadership, there have been changes in the focus areas. The Air Seva portal, which is frequently referred by former ministers, is not in news anywhere and is currently being actively pursued.
