Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi announced that it will resume flight operations at Terminal-2 of Delhi airport from July 22, 2021.
Leading Low Cost Carrier, IndiGo tweeted, "Flight numbers 6E2000 – 6E2999 will arrive and depart from Terminal 2, Delhi, starting 22nd July 2021. Please check your flight number and terminal before leaving for the airport for a hassle-free journey,"

The number of domestic flights has come down significantly due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country due to this Delhi Airport has shut the Terminal-2 from May 18.
There is a statement outs from the Officials of IGI Airport Delhi, "We were handling a peak of 1.2 lakh passengers daily (domestic and International, arrivals and departures) this February which was the highest since the Covid outbreak last March-end. During the second wave, this number crashed to 30,000, and post the second wave we are currently at about 60,000 passengers daily,"
Now, the number of Covid-19 cases in India continues to decline, more people start travelling again. Also, many states have started lifting the Covid-19 travel restriction which includes mandatory RT-PCR test reports.
