Starting from September 07, fully vaccinated Indian travellers can now travel to Canada if they have a third country as a stopover where RT-PCR testing is done.

While destinations in the Middle East are currently open to travellers, Indians can now transit from places such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Currently, ticket prices for Canada have dropped, for those with layovers in another country. So this is how the new rule really works for the interested Indian travellers. The cost of a Mumbai-Toronto return ticket with London is between Rs 80000-90000. But if you stop in a Middle Eastern destination, the prices show a drop after 3 weeks.

For Indian travellers, currently only CoviShield is accepted in Canada, so as of now only those eligible to travel who have received a full dose of CoviShield vaccine.

All passengers undergo an RT PCR test, which must be done 72 hours before arriving in Canada. Each passenger must also present proof of vaccination, and fill in the information on the ArriveCAN app.

People travelling with children under the age of 12 are not required to be in quarantine. However, children aged 12 to 17 years and above will have to be quarantined for a period of 14 days.
