In the wake of the rising coronavirus crisis, the Uttarakhand government recently announced the extension of the lockdown in Dehradun till September 21. Earlier, the lockdown was expected to remain in force on September 14.
The state government issued a fresh order saying it would allow tourists to visit Mussoorie only on weekends, provided they are able to show a negative COVID test report which is not older than 72 hours from their arrival.
Along with this, travellers will have to register themselves on the Dehradun Smart City Only Portal and provide proof of hotel booking in Mussoorie.
No one will be allowed to enter the rivers and ponds in Sahastradhara, Guchupani and Mussoorie.
It is mandatory for visitors to follow all coronavirus related protocols, such as wearing masks at all times, maintaining adequate social distancing and others.
Parking of vehicles will not be allowed after 5 pm on Mall Road till September 21 and spitting in public places has been banned, and fines ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 will be imposed on those violating the rules.
