Mr Ratan Tata on Monday announced that Mr Ilker Ayce has been appointed as the CEO and MD of Air India, as Tata Sons captured the only national carrier of India. Mr. Ilkar Ayci will assume his responsibilities on or before 1 April 2022.
Mr. Ilker Aysi was born in 1971 in Istanbul. He is a 1994 alumnus of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Bilkent. After a research stay on Political Science at the University of Leeds in the UK in 1995, he completed an International Relations Master's program at the University of Marmara in Istanbul in 1997.
The Air India Board met held on yesterday afternoon to consider the candidature of Mr. Ilker Ayci, Mr. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons was a special invitee to the Board meeting.
Approved the appointment of Mr. Ilkar Aysi as CEO and MD of Air India after due deliberations. This appointment is subject to requisite regulatory approvals. Prior to that Mr. Ilker Aysi was the chairman of Turkish Airlines and before that he was on the company's board.
Mr. Ilker Ayci, said, "I am delighted and honored to accept the privilege of leading an iconic airline and to join the Tata Group.
