New Wave In China: Corona Infections More Than Doubled In A Day, Highest In 2 Years, Lockdown In 10 Cities

A new wave of corona infection has started in China. New cases more than doubled in a day. On Tuesday, 5280 new corona cases were found in China, which is believed to be the most rapid infection in the country since the days of the corona epidemic. 

On the other hand, WHO has warned the world that a new variant being developed by combining Delta and Omicron variants can bring the fourth wave.

Due to the new corona wave, a lockdown has been imposed in 10 cities of China. More than 3 crore people have once again been imprisoned in their homes. Jilin province has been affected the most by the new wave. At least 10 cities and counties have been under lockdown due to the surge in corona cases.

These include the tech hub of Schengen, where 1.70 million people live. According to China's National Health Commission (NHC), this is the highest single day increase in the last two years. Maximum 3000 new infected have been found in Jilin province.

On Monday, the NHC had said that more cases have been registered in the country so far this year than in 2021. In 2021, 8,378 cases were registered within China for the whole year, which has increased to more than 14,000 so far this year. The corona infection, which started in 2019 from Wuhan, China, is once again taking hold of China.

In the last one week, new cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang provinces including Beijing, Shanghai. Nomura said in a note that this could seriously affect the Chinese economy once again.
