District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Leh has issued a traffic advisory for vehicular movement on NH-03 Leh-Manali National Highway. According to the DDMA, movement of all vehicles going to Manali will be allowed from April 28 till further orders, except trucks and two-wheelers.

Further, the cut out time will be 10 AM and no vehicle will be allowed towards Manali after that. The authority will inform about the trucks and two wheelers separately after further road evaluation.

DDMA further advised the commuters to take the mentioned route only after verifying the situation from the Police Control Room at Leh, Traffic Police of Ladakh and Lahaul-Spiti Police.

The Leh - Manali Highway is an important route that connects Leh to Manali. This 428 km long highway connects the Solang Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys in Himachal Pradesh and the Zanskar Valley in Ladakh.

The highway is open for about five months each year, between mid-May or June to October. The rest of the time, the highway is blocked by a thick carpet of snow. Leh-Manali is a 428 km long highway route that connects Leh with Manali.
