Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Friday that the Test and Go program will ends on May 1.
On the other hand, the Thailand Pass is still required. Vaccinated individuals are still required to verify their vaccination status and insurance coverage by registering on the Thailand Pass.
Test and Go Removed
At a CCSA (Covid-19 Situational Administration Centre) meeting on Friday, 22 April, Thai officials decided to scrap the Test and Go scheme and said that RT-PCR testing on arrival would not be required for vaccinated tourists. It is only advised that they do self-ATK test during their stay.
In addition, travelers visiting Thailand will not require an overnight hotel reservation to obtain a visa. Also, the compulsory travel insurance policy has been reduced to $10,000.
New Rules For Travellers From May 01
To summarize the changes, from May 1, entry rules will be relaxed for vaccinated passengers, and only two plans for air travelers arriving in Thailand.
- No pre-departure or RT-PCR test on arrival.
- There is no need to book a one night hotel stay.
- Travel insurance has been reduced to $10,000.
- COVID-19 Antigen Self Testing Kit (ATK) if you have symptoms.
