Dubai introduces smart gates for international arrivals for easy check out. In this post we read all about smart gates.
Passengers arriving and departing from DXB Terminal 3 can use advanced smart gates to pass through passport control in a matter of seconds, with a new contactless process.
The state-of-the-art biometric system at smart gates has reduced the pressure on passport control officials as more people prefer to pass through the gate instead of queuing for a physical stamp on immigration.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, nearly one million passengers per month have used the 122 smart gates located throughout the airport.
How to use Smart Gates?
- If you are a tourist you will need to scan your Emirates ID or biometric passport.
- The next step is to verify your biometrics by staring directly at the green light above the camera.
- After verification of your biometrics, the smart gates will open and the passport control process will be completed.
